The Beginning of a Dynasty

Tony and Ben Walker started the season as the undisputed leaders of the Rockets.  After several games, it was apparent that Tony could no longer dominate as he did in his youth, when he would consistantly average over 30 points and 15 rebounds per contest.  Rocky "The Rockdawg Shotdogg" Byerley was brought in midseason as a free agent, sending waves through the New Albany Church League community.  Rocky proved to be an impact player early, scoring over 40 points in a single game.  After Christmas, another impact player, Kevin Vernia, was added to the mix.  The two combined that season to form the most dangerous duo in church league history.  After several wins late in the season, the team looked posed for a strong tournament run.  Unfortunately, they were upset early in the tournament by Morton in what has since been know as the Saint Valentine's Day Massacure (poor Caitlin) by Morton and their star center junior.
Rocky and Kevin had established themselves as forces in the league.  Ben improved his hands and Tony established himself as one of the Top 2 coaches in the league (the other being the old man on the white team).  Michael Jordan also began his streak of leading the church league in charges taken.  The team looked on towards next season, the future being very bright.
